This position provides oversight of the Education and Early Childhood Development content area of the Head Start/Early Head Start program, ensuring compliance with performance standards and recognized best practice in early childhood education and early intervention/special education. In addition, this position develops and implements the family literacy and transition program of Head Start/Early Head Start. Requires degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Childhood Multicultural Education, Child Development, or closed related field with at least 6 courses for college credit in ECE. Must have 1 year experience working with children and families. Requires 1 year supervisory experience. Must have knowledge of current best practice for developmentally appropriate early childhood education, including theories and principles of child growth and development, and family support. Experience or knowledge of family strengths/family-centered practice preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish desirable. Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire. Must have valid driver's license and may be required to use personal transportation to carry out job duties. Salary range: $17.05 to $22.03, dependent on education. Position requires successful completion of background checks.
