This job assists the Dentist at chairside during examination and treatment of patients at the Cuba Health Center and the Torreon Health Center. Also involves assisting in dental lab and performing clerical duties related to dental program. HS diploma/GED required. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo preferred. Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire. DENTAL AIDE wage is $8.50 per hour. DENTAL ASSISTANT must have 1 year dental assisting experience; OR completion of 2 full semesters (3 trimesters) in a recognized dental assisting program. Knowledge of, and competency in, the following areas required: sterilization, dental nomenclature, instrument passing, and preparation of dental materials. Must have current NM Board of Dental Health Care Certification in Dental Radiography (DACR). Wage range: $11.00 to $12.00 per hour, dependent on experience. CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT must have 1 year Dental Assistant Certificate from college or technical school; OR minimum 1 year related experience and training; OR equivalent combination of experience and education. Requires current NM Board of Dental Health Care Certification in the following areas: Dental Radiography (DACR), Rubber Cup Coronal Polishing, Application of Topical Fluoride and Pit & Fissure Sealant Application. Wage range: $13.00 to $14.00 per hour, dependent on experience as certified dental assistant. Position requires successful completion of background checks. Excellent benefits.
